If you receive the tape in extensions don't wash your hair for the first 48 hours.
Make it a habit to brush your hair at least 3 times a day. When brushing, start at the ends and work your way up, grab the bonds and make sure you don't snag around the base.
A day shouldn't go by where you don't use a leave in conditioner or oil. Your natural hair receives the oils from your scalp, the extensions do not and they need extra moisture to stay strong and healthy. When applying, keep away from your roots.
Before going to bed, brush thoroughly and either put your hair in a lose bun, braid, ponytail ect.
Before blowdrying, apply your recommend products into damp hair and brush through thoroughly. Use medium heat.
When using a curling iron, flat iron ect set the temperature to 320-360 degrees max.
My personal favorite way to style is on the nights I shampoo, I blow dry and curl my hair, then leave the curls for the next 3-4 days and repeat.
Dry shampoo will be your best friend.
Try to minimize shampooing to 1-3 times a week.
Before even getting into the shower brush out your hair. Then wet your hair as usual and with your shampoo, gently massage your scalp, do not apply shampoo directly onto the extensions but the excess lather will be perfectly fine. Now when rinsing, make sure all the shampoo is out, then rinse again. Any left ove shampoo on the bonds could cause irritation and dryness. Gently squeeze out any excess water and apply a generous amount of conditioner to the ends of your hair. Do not apply conditioner to your roots, this will cause your bonds to lose and cause premature slippage. Try to leave the conditioner on for about 3-5min. Thoroughly rinse and towel dry, pat and squeeze, don't rub.
